Kelvedon

KELVEDON is sought after for its strong village heartbeat. The local church and the Kelvedon Players organise a variety of activities between them, including children’s groups and an annual pantomime. Once people have settled here they rarely move out. A Grade II listed three-bedroom cottage with inglenook fireplace will cost £370,000. An 18th-century six-bedroom Georgian town house within walking distance of the station will cost £700,000. Feering, less than two miles away, is almost umbilically linked. It has a community centre and village school, an art club, choir, WI, bowls, football, Scouts and Guides. The villages share a cricket club. On May Day the pubs throw their doors open while the village green throbs with dancers. Newcomers quickly become assimilated. A five-bedroom cottage with studio, garage, gardens and orchard would cost £575,000.
