Billericay

BILLERICAY is bustling, respectable and genteel. House prices are not as high as at Shenfield, but are similar to those in Brentwood and Chelmsford. The town is close enough to the open countryside to attract a steady drift of people from London’s East End. A private golf course has been built on the Chelmsford side, and at Barleylands Craft Village and Farm Centre a farmers’ market is held twice a month. Car parking spaces in the station car park are scarce as hens’ teeth during peak times and a mobile clamping unit picks off illegal parkers. There is a year long wait for season ticket parking and remember, there are between 3,000 and 4,000 season ticket holders to compete with.
