Liphook
LIPHOOK The Surrey/Hampshire boundary looms large in people’s minds because there is intense rivalry between the two counties. Liphook falls just into Hampshire and is surrounded by lovely countryside. It is cheaper than Haslemere because it is further south, but has good access to the A3. The Square, where six roads converge, is a conservation area dominated by the 17th-century Royal Anchor Hotel. There has been considerable development close to the centre of the village in recent years. Shopping is much improved and there is a Sainsbury’s Country Store. New apartments, well placed for village amenities, cost from £135,000 to £200,000. A three-bedroom terrace on Loseley Park will cost £200,000; a four-bedroom detached £350,000. Victorian three-bedroom semis in Liphook fetch between £190,000 and £250,000; a five-bedroom house over £400,000.
