Only 18 miles from London, it is a patch of rural peace – village hall, small green and a stream winding past wisteria-clad old brick. The other Denhams – Higher, New and Denham Green, which has a post office – are simply a few streets of Thirties’ semis and bungalows, and Fifties’ houses, where a three-bedroom semi can be had for £299,000. Denham Golf Club is little more than a railway halt for the club.
