Prittlewell
PRITTLEWELL is a restrained northern suburb of Southend where two- to three-bedroom semis cost around £160,000. People who travel this line have seen the service improve dramatically. ‘I’ll tell you how bad it used to be,’ says one commuter. ‘I sent a bottle of wine to the station manager just because my train was on time. Then 77 consecutive journeys were 10 minutes late.’
Good for: a manageable commute which gets you close to the coast and the buzz of Southend on Sea where there are very good schools.
