Gomshall via Dorking West
DORKING DEEPDENE is a good-quality residential area, close to the station yet set in beautiful woodland. It takes its name from the Deepdene Estate, which was owned by the Howard family. Large detached houses in Deepdene Wood sell for £750,000 to £1m, although a six-bedroom Thirties’ house recently sold for £2.1m. Three-bedroom semis cost around £225,000 to £250,000. Dorking West is partly residential, partly commercial, with new business parks springing up. A small terraced house would cost around £280,000; a semi £300,000 to £350,000. Gomshall is an expensive village marred by traffic. A Victorian two-bedroom semi would cost just under £280,000.
