Brookmans Park

BROOKMANS PARK This is the world of personalised number plates and golf courses, the playground to Potters Bar. Large expensive houses, some of them sealed behind tall hedges, have been built between lakes and woodlands in the grounds of two long-demolished country houses, called Brookmans and Gobions. The railway arrived in 1926, and suburbia gradually ate up the surrounding fields. A four-bedroom house in more exclusive Brookmans Park can be bought for £500,000, though prices run into millions with ease.
