Worplesdon
WORPLESDON Sandwiched between Woking and Guildford, Worplesdon is a main-road village with the A322 cutting straight through it. The station is at least a mile from the centre, but it is close to some rather nice private roads running off Goose Rye Road. Large Twenties’ and Thirties’ detached houses here sell for £600,000 upwards. A four- or five-bedroom gabled and dormered house with a detached granny-annexe will fetch around £850,000.
Sutton Green, a mile south-east of the station, is semi-rural. A two-up-two-down turn-of-the-century cottage will cost from £250,000 upwards; a four-bedroom detached house of the same period will be over £600,000. Cottages and converted former agricultural buildings on Richmond Estates’ Sutton Place Farm sometimes come on the market for £850,000 to £1m.
